Bajaj Auto has finally launched the updated variants of its Dominar 250 and Dominar 400 after a recent teaser spree.
The new Dominar 250 is available from ₹1.92 lakh (ex-showroom), and its bigger brother, the Dominar 400, begins at ₹2.39 lakh (ex-showroom).
The new bikes feature a slew of updates in terms of features, touring-oriented features, and ergonomic refinement—the majority of these are shared across both motorcycles.
One of the key highlights is the addition of four riding modes on both variants: Rain, Road, Sport, and Off-Road. These modes change the throttle response and sensitivity of the ABS to match different riding conditions. The Dominar 400 gets a ride-by-wire system, improving the precision of the throttle, while the Dominar 250 still uses a mechanical throttle but also gets a four-mode ABS for improved control.
Another interesting update is the addition of a contemporary digital instrument cluster, like that seen on the Pulsar NS400Z. The latest bonded glass colour LCD display is complemented with new switchgear, which aids better user interaction. Bajaj has also reworked the handlebars to better the ride comfort, especially during high-mileage use. A GPS mount has also been included, allowing riders to conveniently fit navigation units or smartphones.
In spite of these feature improvements, mechanical aspects of both bikes are still the same. Dominar 400 still runs on the same 373cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor churning out 39 hp at 8,800 rpm and 35 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, with a six-speed transmission. While that, the Dominar 250 is powered by a 248cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine developing 26 hp at 8,500 rpm and 23 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm and is also equipped with a six-speed transmission.
