The High Court set aside a September 15, 2022, verdict by the principal judge of the Ghazipur family court which ruled that the appellant Zahida Khatoon was entitled for maintenance only for the period of "iddat", which was defined as three months and 13 days from the date of divorce.
Authorities begin final crackdown against TRF, its cadre in J&K
Intelligence agencies say that TRF is an offshoot of the Laskar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist group. The MHA, in a notification, has also declared Mohammad Amin alias Abu Khubaib of LeT, who belongs to Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), as an 'individual terrorist'. Mohammad Amin alias Abu Khubaib is believed to operate from Afghanistan and is organising terror activities in the Jammu region. Accoding to the MHA, TRF has been recruiting youth into militancy through online media for furtherance of terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. The post of Special Commissioner of Police, Mumbai has been created for the first time by the state government. The present Commissioner of Police is Vivek Phansalkar, appointed in July 2022. Bharti, an IPS officer of the 1994 batch, has earlier held several top assignments including Joint Commissioner of Police, Additional Commissioner of Police, head of Maharashtra ATS, and Joint Managing Director of Maharashtra State Security Corporation. As per a government notification, the new Special Commissioner of Police (Bharti) will function below the Mumbai Commissioner of Police (Phansalkar)

Earlier on Wednesday, a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) had gone to the Sultanpuri police station where it conducted mechanical inspection of the Maruti Baleno car under which the 20-year-old girl got stuck on the outskirts of Delhi. "So far, it has been found that she got stuck on the left front wheel of the vehicle. Our teams have also found blood stains around the wheel and other parts under the car," FSL sources said.

Mitochondrial DNA report of hair & bone matches with Shraddha's father
Confirming the development, the Special Commissioner of Police (law and order), Sagar Preet Hooda, said the bones and hair (where DNA couldn't be extracted) were sent to the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) Hyderabad for 'DNA mitochondrial profiling'. "Today the result has been received. One piece of bone and a bunch of hair purported to be of the deceased have matched with that of her father and brother which establishes the identity of the bone and hair to be that of Shradhdha Walker," said the Special CP.
