Ukraine Accuses Russia of Violating War Conventions Over Execution of Captured Troops

According to reports, the Russians killed nine captured Ukrainian troops in the Kursk border region.

Ukraine on Sunday said the Russians are violating all the rules of war after Moscow hanged Kyiv's soldiers, media reported.

"We have written a letter to the United Nations and the Red Cross about these executions. Moscow is breaching all the rules and customs of war," said a Ukrainian official.

Kyiv has been deploying thousands of troops in the Russian border region since it launched its surprise incursion earlier this summer.

There was also a video of the Ukrainian soldiers that had gone viral, where the troops could be seen naked to their undergarments and lying face down on what appears to be farmland in Kursk.

Ukraine has often accused Russia of executing captured Ukrainian troops-a war crime under the Geneva Convention.

Ukraine said Monday that Russian forces have executed 93 of its soldiers since the start of its conflict with Moscow, reports said.
