A tragic incident unfolded in Middlesex County, New Jersey, as two Indian-origin women became the targets of a shooting, one of whom lost her life while the other is struggling for her life. Officials said the shooting occurred on June 12 and the two victims, airlifted to the hospital, were identified as Jasvir Kaur, 29, of Williams Township, PA, who was pronounced dead at the hospital and her cousin, age 20 of Jersey City, NJ, who remains critically injured.
Within a few hours, 19-year-old suspect Gaurav Gill was apprehended by police after a small chase. He is facing several charges, including first-degree murder, attempted murder, and many weaponry-related crimes. The motive behind the shooting remained unclear, with investigators looking quite actively for more information to piece together events that led to this tragedy.
Friends and neighbors explained Jasvir Kaur to be an industrious person with so much good in his heart, quite a shock to the community that this happened. Widespread expressions of shock and disbelief were expressed across communities in general at large, coupled with demands for justice; though the police is yet investigating what exactly transpired.
