Summit on Ukraine shows almost zero effectiveness says Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov

He said that the basic thought process that came from many countries participating in it is that any discussion concerning Ukraine without involving Russia is purposeless. That was the general impression that came out of most of those present.

The recent Summit on Peace in Ukraine convened in Switzerland over the weekend was characterized by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov as largely ineffective. According to Xinhua News Agency, Peskov remarked on Monday, "Of course, if we talk about the overall effectiveness of this meeting, then, of course, it tends to be zero."

Now, referring to the position Russia has taken, Peskov said that President Vladimir Putin is still interested in having constructive dialogue on the Ukraine issue. "The work will continue—with all countries ready to do so," added Peskov.

The normals of the peace conference finished on Sunday in Burgenstock, Switzerland, without a common signing of a joint communiqué. It was in the same Sunday press conference that Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis pointed out that most decisions which were taken by the conference needed the participation of Russia to be implemented.
