Russia, overnight, launched a wave of strikes across northern, eastern, and southern Ukraine, killing at least four people and wounding 37 others, according to the Ukrainian military and local authorities.
The strikes were focused in the frontline areas in Ukraine overnight on Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Donetsk. This was according to the Ukraine Air Force Sunday report on Telegram.
The continuous shelling of Ukrainian border areas has risen. In response, Kyiv claimed that its surprise overnight raid on Russia's Kursk region was aimed at disabling Moscow's ability to conduct such shelling.
One person was killed in Sumy, and at least 16 were left injured, including three children, said local officials in an update on Telegram.
According to Oleh Sinehubov, head of the Kharkiv regional administration, at least 13 people were injured in the region, including a four-year-old child, due to the Russian attacks.
The mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, has said that the city bears damage in the form of a gas pipeline, two houses a complete ruin, and ten partly.
The Ukrainian Air Force declared that Russia launched nine attack drones, adding that Ukrainian air defenses intercepted all eight over the Mykolaiv region.
"Most of the missiles were intercepted before reaching their targets," the Air Force said in a statement listing an Iskander-M ballistic missile and an Iskander-K cruise missile, while also mentioning six guided air missiles, without specifying how many were downed.
Throughout the day, Russian attacks remained in the southern Kherson region, killing one and wounding six, according to Roman Mrochko, head of Kherson's military administration.
In Sumy, an air bomb hit a residential area in the village of Svesa on Sunday afternoon. Two people were killed, and two more were wounded.
There has been no immediate response from Russia over the incidents.
Both sides reject intentionally targeting civilians in a war that began when Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
