The Princess of Wales of the UK, Kate, has announced that she has concluded her chemotherapy treatment against cancer.
"As this summer draws to a close, I don't think I could say how much of a relief it is to have finally finished my chemotherapy treatment," said Princess Kate, 42, in a video where she was seen spending quality time with her family in Norfolk, east of England.
The last nine months have indeed been very tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant, and we've had to try to navigate stormy waters and the road unknown," she said.
Doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus. While I have completed chemotherapy, my road to recovery and healing is long and I must go with the day," she said.
The princess said she's looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months.
Kate, the wife of heir-to-the-throne Prince William, said in March she had been diagnosed with cancer. Chemotherapy for the Duke of Cambridge's wife started in late February after a major abdominal surgery in January.
