Raman, aged 38, was pronounced dead at the Royal Berkshire Hospital following the incident on Addington Road in Reading on February 14. Seven other men from Reading, aged between 20 and 48, who were arrested on suspicion of aiding an offender, have been released on bail.

"Our condolences are with Mr. Raman's family, who are receiving support from specially trained officers. We are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, and arrests have been made," stated Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Brangwin of Thames Valley Police's Major Crime Unit.

Brangwin urged anyone with information related to the case to come forward and assured the public of a visible police presence in the area as inquiries progress.

In the meantime, a fundraising initiative has been launched to assist Raman's family with repatriation and funeral expenses. Described as a "devoted husband, loving son, and accomplished professional," Raman was highly regarded as a restaurant manager at Vel. Known for his warmth, exemplary customer service, and strong work ethic, he was on the verge of securing a senior management position in the hotel industry, with an exciting opportunity awaiting him at the Hyatt Regency Mayfair London. The fundraising page aims to raise 50,000 pounds to support Raman's family during this difficult time.
