Following the detention of a Nicaragua-bound plane carrying 303 Indian passengers in France due to suspected "human trafficking," the Indian Embassy in France swiftly responded, confirming consular access and initiating investigations into the situation.
Amidst circulating reports indicating the detention of the Nicaragua-bound flight from Dubai at a French airport, the Indian Embassy in France provided a statement, stating, "French authorities have notified us regarding the detention of a plane with 303 passengers, predominantly of Indian origin, en route from Dubai to Nicaragua, halted for technical reasons at a French airport."
The Embassy assured, "Our team is on-site, having secured consular access. We are actively probing the circumstances while ensuring the welfare of the passengers."
As per emerging details, the aircraft, suspected of carrying individuals potentially trafficked, was detained on Thursday following an anonymous tip-off. Departing from the United Arab Emirates, the plane remained grounded at Vatry airport subsequent to its landing, according to the reports.
