Brazil’s Ambassador to India, Kenneth Felix Haczynski Da Nobrega, on Saturday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, describing India’s development over the past decade as “fantastic” in both economic and social dimensions. He also spoke about the significance of PM Modi’s visit to Brazil during the recent BRICS Summit.

The Ambassador referred to PM Modi's visit to Brazil at the BRICS Summit as a historical event.

"If I'm not mistaken, it was the first state visit in over two decades, and it had a significant effect. The Brazilian media coverage emphasized the significance of the visit. We issued a detailed joint statement of our mutual goals," he said.

On widening strategic partnerships, Da Nobrega stressed Defence as a key sector.

"Defence is indeed one sector where we identify potential for joint ventures to deepen our industrial footprints. But beyond that, fossil and renewable energy, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and Digital Public Infrastructure (DPIs) are all sectors with high bilateral potential."

He also emphasized the rapid expansion of trade and commercial relations, underlining the growing importance of India-Brazil relations in the current geopolitical order.

In the last two years alone, 77 business delegations have come to India from Brazil, and over 40 Indian missions went to Brazil. This shows how active our trade and business relations have become. In this common commercial interest, our leaders have sketched out plans to increase cooperation in Defence, energy, pharmaceuticals, DPIs, and agriculture. We have a plan," he said.
