Boko Haram claims responsibility of kidnapping over 300 Nigerian students

Some students who managed to flee the terrorists have said that the attackers were armed with AK-47 assault rifles and rounded up their victims before marching them off. Boko Haram, whose name means “Western education is forbidden” in the local Hausa language, started their insurgency in 2009 when the terrorists staged an armed rebellion against the Nigerian government.

Nigerian Terror group Boko Haram has claimed the responsibility of abduction over 330 students from the country. 

On Tuesday  a man claiming to be a leader of the group admitted, via an short audio clip, to kidnapping scores of schoolboys in northwestern Nigeria on Friday.

"I am Abubakar Shekau and our brothers are behind the kidnapping in Katsina," said the man who is is both the spiritual head and supreme commander of the terror group. 

The US based CNN media which has reviewed the clip but hasn't been able to verify it independently said on Monday that the kidnappers had been in touch with a teacher of the school, raising the prospect of a ransom negotiation.”
