The recent conflict in Gaza erupted following a tragic incident on October 7, where over 1,200 individuals lost their lives in a massacre perpetrated by Hamas and other militant Palestinian factions in Israel. Additionally, a number of individuals were forcibly taken from Israel to the Gaza Strip. Despite initial hopes that a significant portion of the hostages were still alive, recent developments suggest a grim reality.
President Biden acknowledged the poignant plight faced by the families of the hostages during this Passover season, a time synonymous with freedom, as they grapple with the continued captivity of their loved ones.
Expressing a sense of urgency, President Biden affirmed his administration's relentless efforts to secure the release of the hostages and to broker an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza.
