Soccer icon Lionel Messi is set to showcase his fancy footwork in Michelob beer's upcoming Big Game commercial, scheduled to air during the CBS broadcast of Super Bowl LVIII on February 11, according to reports from 'Variety.'
Joining Messi in the commercial are 'Ted Lasso' actor and producer Jason Sudeikis, along with NFL Hall of Famer Dan Marino. The beach-themed spot captures Messi's impressive moves as he anticipates his next glass of Michelob Ultra.
The collaboration between the three personalities unfolded on the set of the commercial, fostering a quick rapport, as shared by Ricardo Marques, Michelob Ultra's vice president of marketing. Last year, Michelob Ultra partnered with Netflix for 'Full Swing,' a documentary series focusing on a group of golfers throughout a PGA Tour season. In 2024, the brand shifts its focus to soccer, aligning with what Marques views as a golden era for the sport in the United States.
The Super Bowl ad is expected to serve as a significant kickoff for Michelob Ultra's soccer-themed initiatives, coinciding with a year that includes the Paris Olympics.
