Prime Volleyball League: Calicut Heroes come back to pick stunning win over Mumbai Meteors

Mumbai Meteors began their journey into the league with two quick points as Hiroshi Centelles put on consecutive perfect blocks to give his team an early lead. Jose Antonio Sandoval, with a deft touch over the net, put the ball in no man's land on the opposition's end as Calicut Heroes earned their first point of the game.
India to host Volleyball Club World Championships from Dec 6

As the host nation, the winners of the Prime Volleyball League in 2023 and 2024 will represent India in the tournaments, where they will face fierce competition against established clubs from the top volleyball nations from around the globe like Italy, Brazil, Iran and others.The championships will be staged between December 6 and 10, 2023. The host city will be announced later this year.
Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi to host Prime Volleyball League's 2023 season starting from February 4

All eight franchises -- Calicut Heroes, Kochi Blue Spikers, Ahmedabad Defenders, Hyderabad Black Hawks, Chennai Blitz, Bengaluru Torpedoes, newbies Mumbai Meteors, and defending champions Kolkata Thunderbolts -- will play in a round-robin format. The top four teams in the league stage will qualify for the semifinals. From there, two teams will contest in the final of the tournament to be played in Kochi. Overall, the season will feature 31 matches as the Mumbai franchise joins the league from 2023 season.

India beat South Korea 3-2 to win bronze in Asian U18 volleyball championships

India, who had lost 0-3 to hosts Iran in the semifinals, overcame South Korea in the hard-fought encounter, winning 25-20, 25-21, 26-28, 19-25, 15-12. The 2007 runners-up India, who finished second behind Japan in Pool B, defeated Chinese Taipei 3-1 in the quarterfinals of the eight-team competition.

Shon T John's blistering performance helped Ahmedabad Defenders book a place in the final of the Prime Volleyball League after they beat Hyderabad Black Hawks 15-13, 15-12, 9-15, 15-12 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, here on Thursday. The Defenders will play the winner of the match between Kolkata Thunderbolts and Calicut Heroes in the final on Sunday.

PVL: Pankaj Sharma's magnificent spikes help Bengaluru Torpedoes beat Ahmedabad Defenders

Pankaj Sharma and Noah Taitano got the Bengaluru Torpedoes off to a strong start as the side took the lead at 8-5 in the first set. Sarang Santhilal pulled off a brilliant smash as the Torpedoes extended their lead further. However, Angamuthu stood tall as the Defenders leveled the scores at 12-12. Thereafter, Pankaj effected two superb spikes to help the Torpedoes close out the first set at 15-14.
PVL: Bruno Da Silva powers Chennai Blitz to their first victory

Fernando Gonzalez stood tall for the Chennai Blitz as the team took the lead at 7-5 in the first set. Thereafter, spikes from Jerome Vinith and Ajithlal C helped the Calicut Heroes level the scores at 9-9. David Lee produced a fantastic spike to help the Heroes win a Super Point and take the lead at 13-12. However, the Blitz fought hard and closed out the first set at 15-14 through a fantastic serve by Bruno Da Silva.
