Twitter bans over 54K accounts in India for promoting sexual content, terror

The micro-blogging platform, now owned by Elon Musk, also took down 1,982 accounts for promoting terrorism on its platform in the country. Twitter, in its monthly report in compliance with the new IT Rules, 2021, said that it received 157 complaints from users in India in the same time-frame through its grievance redressal mechanisms, and took action on 129 of those URLS.
Musk seeks to revive Twitter's short-form video app Vine in TikTok era

Chief Twit Musk posted a poll on his Twitter account, asking users if they think Vine should be brought back, with a caption, "Bring back Vine?". Several users expressed their thoughts on the poll. A user commented, "I think it would be a great idea to bring back Vine. It was a great platform for creative content and I think there is still a lot of potential there"

Musk has already started announcing changes at the platform, like expanding the 280-character limit, allowing lengthy videos, revamping account verification policies and more. "Now that the word is out: I'm helping out @elonmusk with Twitter temporarily with some other great people," Krishnan said in a tweet.

According to The Verge, Musk requested that the Explore page which displays trending tweets and news stories, be redirected to the logged-out users visiting Twitter.com. Before the change, the platform's homepage used to display just a sign-up form when logged out which encouraged users to create accounts in order to access tweets.

Another user asked him about posting longer videos on Twitter, to which he said: "100 per cent". Reacting to a follower's tweet thread, Musk said: "My most immediate takeaway from this novella of a thread is that Twitter is way overdue for long form tweets!"

Tesla stopped answering press inquiries in 2020 and Musk later dissolved the whole press department. Last year, Musk clarified that he "finds it more helpful to read/follow individual journalists, rather than publications".
