Twitter Blue subscription users may hide their paid check marks soon

App researcher Alessandro Paluzzi posted on Twitter that the micro-blogging platform is working on a control panel for verification settings. It will have an option, saying "Show or hide your blue checkmark on your profile."

Twitter Blue is now available globally and the users can get Blue Verified for $7 a month if they sign up via web browser, Musk announced. "On April 1, we will begin winding down our legacy verified program and removing legacy verified check marks. To keep your blue checkmark on Twitter, individuals can sign up for Twitter Blue," said the company.

The method for submitting a photo of the users' ID, both front and back, combined with a selfie photo, to authenticate their Twitter account is revealed through code-level insights uncovered by the product intelligence firm Watchful.ai, reports TechCrunch. However, it is still unclear whether the feature is being tested externally. According to the firm, the feature is in testing in the US, where it was found in the Android version of the Twitter application.
Non-Twitter Blue users now have last chance to switch away from SMS 2FA

Also, users will now not be able to enrol in the text message/SMS method of 2FA unless they are Blue subscribers. The company had made this announcement last month and said that after March 20, non-Blue accounts with text message 2FA still enabled "will have it disabled." Currently, the platform offers three methods of 2FA -- text message, authentication app and security key.
