The motivating video seemed to have worked with his fans. One fan wrote: "We will rise once again.. thank you Karan for always spreading positivity and hope," while another posted: "thank you for inspiring us always."

Mistry is known for his work in films such as "Shor In The City", "Yamla Pagla Deewana", "99", "Ek Chalis Ki Last Local", "Kya Kehna!" and in last year's OTT show "Bandish Bandits". The actor recently shot for the upcoming film "Bhoot Police". The film's producer Ramesh Taurani, confirming Mistry's demise, says he was well at the time.

Many shows, realising the threat of that scenario are already shifting shooting base outside Maharashtra. "Hamari Wali Good News" is going to be shot at Manesar in Haryana. "Kundali Bhagya", "Kumkum Bhagya", "Qurbaan Hua" and "Apna Time Bhi Ayega" move to Goa. "Teri Meri ikk Jindri" is shifting base to Jaipur while "Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti" is moving to Surat for now.

Popular shows such as "Jamai Raja", "Ishq Mein Marjawan" and "Qubool Hai" have ditched the tube for the digital screen. Actor Karan Singh Grover, who stars in "Qubool Hai 2.0", said the content will be edgier on OTT. Actor Ankit Siwach, who has joined the cast of "Ishq Mein Marjawan 2", said that the show will look different now that it is on OTT.
