Canadian Open: Alcaraz survives epic against Hurkacz to enter quarterfinal

The Spaniard rallied past Hurkacz 3-6, 7-6(2), 7-6(3) to extend his winning streak to 14 matches on Thursday night. Aiming for his seventh title of the season, Alcaraz improved to 2-0 in his ATP Head-to-Head series with Hurkacz and now boasts a 49-4 season record. He will next play 12th seed Tommy Paul, who upset the Spaniard last year in Montreal.

Murray seemed to have the upper hand from the beginning, even if his unforced errors allowed Sonego to stay ahead for much of the opening set. Although some untimely double faults put him at risk of losing the set while serving at 4-5. From an early minibreak down in the tiebreak, Murray won six of the next seven points to wrap up the set in close to 90 minutes.

Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic scored a 6-3, 6-7(8), 6-2 victory over China's Zhu Lin in their first-round match. Pliskova, who was the runner-up in Montreal two years ago, took 2 hours and 22 minutes of play to overcome Zhu at the WTA 1000 event on Monday.

India's Sumit Nagal wins his 4th ATP Challenger title at Tampere Open in Finland

On Sunday against Svrcina, Nagal went down an early break after losing serve in the second game as the Czech took a 3-0 lead. The 25-year-old from Jhajjar in Haryana, broke back his opponent's serve to reduce the margin to 3-4 and then broke Svrcina's serve again in the ninth game to take a 5-4 lead. He came back from 0-30 down to hold his serve and won the 10th game and set at 6-4. 
Olga Danilovic stuns top seed Emma Navarro to win Nordea Open title

Currently ranked No.94, 22-year-old Danilovic took two-and-a-half hours to squeak past 55th-ranked Navarro of the United States on Saturday. Danilovic captured her first title at WTA 125 level with the victory. "This was a very, very, very tough match. Obviously the toughest in the week. She's a great player, her ranking says a lot. From the first point, I think, until the last was so tough," Danilovic said, after her win.
