Sensex ends above 49,000; metal stocks touch record highs
Healthy buying was witnessed in metal stocks, with several stocks touching their all-time high levels. Shares of Tata Steel touched a 52-week high of Rs 1,192 and SAIL stock touched a 52-week high of Rs 145.85 per share. Sensex closed at 49,206.47, higher by 256.71 points or 0.52 per cent from its previous close of 48,949.76.
Equity market ends in green; auto, metal stocks surge
The BSE Sensex closed at 48,949.76, higher by 272.21 points or 0.56 per cent from its previous close of 48,677.55. It had opened at 48,877.78 and touched an intra-day high of 49,011.31 and a low of 48,614.11 points. The Nifty50 on the National Stock Exchange closed at 14,724.80, higher by 106.95 points or 0.73 per cent from its previous close.
Sensex pares gains to turn flat; auto stocks up
Healthy buying was witnessed in auto and metal stocks. At 10.45 a.m., Sensex was trading at 48,706.58, higher by 29.03 points or 0.06 per cent from its previous close of 48,677.55. It touched an intra-day high of 48,898.68 and a low of 48,614.11 points. The Nifty50 on the National Stock Exchange was trading at 14,646.60, higher by just 28.75 points or 0.2 per cent from its previous close.
Equity indices in green as RBI Guv announces liquidity measures
Around 10.45 a.m., Sensex was trading at 48,519.75, higher by 266.24 points or 0.55 per cent from its previous close of 48,253.51. It opened at 48,569.12 and has so far touched an intra-day high of 48,620.51 and a low of 48,254.32 points. The Nifty50 on the National Stock Exchange was trading at 14,584.10, higher by 87.60 points or 0.6 per cent from its previous close.
Equities in red, Sensex falls 700 points
The BSE Sensex plunged as much as 754.29 points to touch an intra-day low of 48,028.07 points. It has, however, recovered from the lows and around 10.15 a.m., it was trading at 48,424.70, lower by 357.66 points or 0.73 per cent from its previous close of 48,782.36.
Sensex down 750 points, banking stocks plunge
Heavy selling pressure was witnessed in banking and finance stocks. Around 2.35 p.m., Sensex was trading at 49,015.62, lower by 750.32 points or 1.51 per cent from its previous close of 49,765.94. It opened at 49,360.89 and has touched an intra-day high of 49,569.42 and a low of 48,921.44 points.
Sensex down 400 points, banking stocks fall
Heavy selling pressure was witnessed in banking and finance stocks. However, buying in metal and oil and gas stocks restricted the losses. Around 10.15 a.m., Sensex was trading at 49,335.39, lower by 430.55 points or 0.87 per cent from its previous close of 49,765.94. It opened at 49,360.89 and has so far touched an intra-day high of 49,569.42 and a low of 49,229.51 points.
Sensex trims gains after reclaiming 50,000
Around 10.18 a.m., it was trading at 49,868.74, higher by 134.9 points or 0.27 per cent from its previous close of 49,733.84. It opened at 50,093.86 and has so far touched an intra-day high of 50,375.77 and a low of 49,813.16 points. The Nifty50 on the National Stock Exchange was trading at 14,913.20, higher by 48.65 points or 0.33 per cent from its previous close.

Healthy buying was seen in auto and banking stocks. Around 10.25 a.m., Sensex was trading at 49,300.42, higher by 356.28 points or 0.73 per cent from its previous close of 48,944.14. It opened at 49,066.64 and has so far touched an intra-day high of 49,354.82 points. The Nifty50 on the National Stock Exchange was trading at 14,742.70, higher by 89.65 points or 0.61 per cent from its previous close.

Healthy buying was witnessed in metal and telecom stocks. Around 10.05 a.m., Sensex was trading at 48,703.10, higher by 316.59 points or 0.65 per cent from its previous close of 48,386.51. It opened at 48,424.08 and has so far touched an intra-day high of 48,710.89 and a low of 48,399.53 points.
