Ranveer says, "I have been blessed and fortunate to have found remarkable scripts that have stood out and touched people. I'm grateful for them and I'm also proud of the work that I have done to bring those roles to life on screen.

The actor's performance will serve as one of the attractions of the event which celebrates and honours the excellence in Indian cinema. The IIFA awards which is scheduled to be held on May 20 and May 21 along with the IIFA weekend will bring its global brand presence to Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The global event will be hosted by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, Riteish Deshmukh and Maniesh Paul.

Ranveer says, "I'm playing a Gujarati boy again after Ram Leela, a film that gave me a mounting of a star in this industry. 'Ram Leela' showered me with incredible love from people, especially from Gujaratis across the world! Even now, when I meet any Gujarati, they always happen to mention how they loved my performance in Ram Leela."

The actor spoke about how the director rendered him with a new perspective on the craft of acting, "Mr. Bhansali is somebody who has shaped me as an artiste more than any other creative collaborator in my entire life. I used to approach acting a certain way - I used to think 'mujhe sab pata hai, I know everything' but Mr. Bhansali stripped down my constructs."

Sharing the pic, Ranveer lauded Deepika for her performance in Gehraiyaan. He wrote, “Doobeyhaan doobey Ek dooje mein yahaan Tour de force Transcendent, superlative and sublime! What an absolute masterclass of a performance, baby! Such fine, nuanced and heartfelt artistry! ... at your consummate and peerless best in this one! You make me so proud! @deepikapadukone #gehraiyaan (sic).”

In the short clip from the Moj app, Shinde, who is said to have more than 10 million followers, sports a lehenga-choli and lip sync's Deepika lines from the film. She nails Deepika's expressions as she delivers the lines.

Ranveer shared: "So, I think I am doing something that I may not have done before and therefore I am achieving what I want to achieve which is doing things which haven't been done before." The actor says this is a journey of exploring this craft. "Let me be the first of trying something that hasn't been tried before because I'm now deeply attached to the process which is the ultimate prize."
