Opposition leader and senior Congress leader, Siddaramaiah had slammed Nadda and Shah, saying that they were working as poll agents. Addressing the media in Hubballi district, Bommai said the statements made by Congress leaders show the frustration of the party. They (Congress) were making such statements as they are worried to see a large number of people gathering.

Congress next yatra could be from Pasighat to Porbandar

He said this while addressing the 85th plenary session of the Congress in Raipur. Following this, the party is now considering a yatra from Arunachal Pradesh's Pasighat to Porbandar in Gujarat which is the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said another yatra is now under consideration.
50% reservation for backward, women and minority in Congress

The Congress on Saturday amended the party's constitution to ensure 50 per cent reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, women and minorities in all party posts, including representatives at the state level (PCC) and national level (AICC). Chairing a committee at the party's convention, senior party leader former Union Minister Ambika Soni proposed the amendment to this constitution.
Three resolutions to be taken up at Congress plenary today

The session will commence by an opening address by party president Mallikarjun Kharge after which it will debate on issues put forth by the subject committee. Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi in her capacity as chairman of the parliamentary party will also address the plenary. The party will also debate the Constitutional resolution.

Both leaders skipped the steering committee meeting which decided not to hold the Congress Working Committee (CWC) elections and announced to amend the party's constitution to give life-long membership to former presidents and prime ministers in the CWC. Congress will amend 16 articles and 32 rules in the party's constitution and one of them is on appointing.

Jitendra Singh's daughter Manavika got married to Avijit Singh, a member of the former royal family of Pali, on Wednesday night. In view of the ceremony, police security was increased outside the Circuit House, helipad and the wedding venue Phool Bagh. Prominent guests from India and abroad reached Alwar for the royal wedding. A helipad was prepared at Kendriya Vidyalaya.
