Twin Tower demolition: Explosives loaded in over 9.5K holes

Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari visited the site on Thursday and inspected the preparations in the Twin Towers -- Apex (32-storey) and Ceyane (29-storey), comprising 915 flats. She was accompanied by the representatives of Edifice Engineering, the Mumbai-based demolition company that is working on the demolition project along with a seven-member team from South African firm Jet Demolition.

A seven-member team from South African firm Jet Demolition along with Edifice Engineering will bring down the twin towers with a controlled blast at 2.30 p.m. on Sunday (August 28). They will be the tallest towers to be demolished in the country. Asked if he is nervous, Mehta told IANS: "No, not at all. We are confident." He then detailed how the two towers, nestled between upmarket societies ATS Village and Emerald Court in Sector 93A, will be brought down.

Noida woman, seen misbehaving with guard in viral video, arrested

According to an official, the police took cognisance of the video, in which Bhavya Rai can be seen misbehaving with the security guard in JP Wishtown Society, under Sector-126 police station, and registered a case against her under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). In the 2-minute-long video, Roy, who seemed intoxicated, is seen holding the guard's hand and hurling abuses at him while the latter is pleading with her.

Engineers from South Africa and Mumbai are working non-stop for the precision demolition of Apex and Cayenne towers, comprising 915 flats, which took three years to build but were deemed illegal by the Supreme Court, signalling zero tolerance for dodgy builders. The illegal towers rising up to 103 metres nestle between upmarket societies called ATS Village and Emerald Court in Sector-93A, but they are only nine metres from the latter's Aster-2 apartment block.
Noida: Woman slaps e-rickshaw driver 17 times in 90 secs, arrested

The accused woman has been identified as Kiran Singh, a resident of Noida and a native of Agra. A police official told IANS that the incident followed a minor accident between the e-rickshaw and a Wagon car which was being driven by Singh. "The woman got out of the car and slapped the e-rickshaw driver multiple times," the official said. In the viral video, the accused woman could be seen slapping the e-rickshaw driver at least 17 times in just 90 seconds.
Noida: 80-year-old man held for 'digitally raping' minor girl

In a "digital rape", the accused person or the rapist uses his hands, toes, fingers or any other object for forceful penetration. The man, identified as Maurice Ryder, was also accused of committing obscene acts with the victim. Based on the minor's complaint, the police registered a case under sections 376 (rape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and section 5 and 6 of the POCSO act.
Noida twin tower demolition test blast today

In its August 31 judgment last year, the Supreme Court had ordered for the demolition of the said towers in Noida. Edifice Engineering, a demolition agency, was given the contract to destroy both the towers and now the countdown of the final days of the twin towers has begun and it will be demolished after 43 days from now, i.e., on May 22.
