Easing inflation lifts equities, metal stocks shine

Initially, both key indices -- S&P BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 -- had a gap-up opening. The Nifty opened gap up and marked a new all-time high of 17,438 levels. Globally, Asian markets were mixed on Tuesday with investors waiting for US inflation data. All the sectorial indices were in the green with media, metals, banks and realty indices gaining the most.
Nifty hits record high, Sensex up 200 points

The Indian stock market opened on a positive note on Tuesday with the Nifty50 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) touching a record high. Nifty hit a fresh high of 17,438.55 points. Healthy buying was witnessed in auto and banking shares.
FPIs net investment of Rs 7,575 cr in September so far

This week, both the key Indian equity indices scaled new highs. The BSE Sensex, on Tuesday touched a record intra-day high of 58,553.07 points and the Nifty50 on the National Stock Exchange hit its all-time high of 17,436.50 points. The total net investment last year stood at Rs 16,556 crore. The inflow of FPIs continues amid a recovery in the economy and improving macroeconomic numbers.
Sensex pares losses to hit new high; HDFC, RIL shares rise

BSE Sensex hit a record high of 58,553.07 points, and the Nifty50 on the National Stock Exchange recorded a fresh high of 17,436.50 points. Rise in the shares of index-heavyweights HDFC and Reliance Industries lifted the indices. Around 1.45 p.m., shares of HDFC on the BSE were trading at Rs 2,833.85, higher by Rs 68.70 or 2.48 per cent from its previous close.
Sensex ends at new record level, RIL above Rs 2,400/share

The BSE Sensex touched a new all-time high of 58,515.85 points, and the Nifty50 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) hit its record high of 17,429.55 points during the session. Index-heavyweight Reliance Industries (RIL) supported the rise in the market. Shares of RIL on the BSE closed at Rs 2,424.55, higher by Rs 36.30 or 1.52 per cent from its previous close.
Nifty surges nearly 20% since Covid's 2nd wave blues in April

The country's financial capital, Mumbai, which houses the bellwether stock exchanges, came under a curfew from April 14 due to the surging number of Covid cases. Delhi was also put under lockdown starting April 20. However, the Nifty50 has risen 19.4 per cent since its closing level of 14,504.80 points on April 13, 2021. On Friday, the Nifty closed at 17,323.60 points, its highest-ever closing level.
Banking, finance stocks lift the market to new highs

The surge came on the back of healthy buying in banking and finance stocks. However, selling pressure in metal and IT stocks capped the gains. Sensex has touched an all-time high of 57,918.71 points, while Nifty has hit a record high of 17,225.75 points.
Sensex turns flat after scaling new high

The BSE Sensex has touched a new all-time high of 55,688.50 points and the Nifty50 has hits new high of 16,591.40 points. Healthy buying was witnessed in IT stocks, however, auto and banking stocks fell. Around 10.25 a.m., Sensex was trading at 55,600.58, higher by 18 points or 0.03 per cent from its previous close of 55,582.58.It had opened at 55,565.64 and a low of 55,415.63 points.
Sensex surges nearly 600 points to end at record closing level

Earlier in the day, Sensex crossed the landmark 55,000 mark for the first time in its history and touched its all-time intra-day high of 55,487.79 points. It closed at 55,437.29, higher by 593.31 points, or 1.08 per cent, from its previous close of 54,843.98. It had opened at 54,911.95 and touched an intra-day low of 54,905.49 points. Nifty also recorded its all-time high of 16,543.60 points during the day.
Faster economic rebound lift equities, Nfty crosses 16k mark

Notably, the Nifty has breached the all-time high of 16,000. Besides, healthy macro-economic data as well as better-than-expected quarterly results boosted investors' sentiments. Segment wise, FMCG, Consumer Durables and Telecom shares saw healthy demand. Consequently, the S&P BSE Sensex hit a record level of 53,478.57 points and the Nifty50 touched a new high of 16,025 points.
