According to several media reports, the actor now has been approached for a role in the film's second part. Manoj had earlier said that every frame in 'Pushpa: The Rise' has been shot as if it's a matter of life and death. The film, written and directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Muttamsetty Media, told the story of its titular character Pushparaj of his rise to become a sandalwood smuggler and his personal trauma.

Making it a point to do diverse films across genres in the last two years, actor Manoj Bajpai says that it is important that he works with different directors willing to explore newer themes and not afraid of new treatments. Even as many books are being adapted into films, Bajpai opines that it is not fair to compare the two once the movie has been made.

The year 2022 has been a very hectic one for the national awards winner as is shooting back-to-back for his new projects such as Ram Reddya's yet-untitled film, Kanu Bhel's 'Despatch', Abhishek Chaubey's film and a Rahul Chitela's film.

Varma told IANS: "Look, I am the same filmmaker who is interested in telling a story that intrigues me at that point of time to make a film out of it. Why should I invest my energy and involve so many people in the project to tell a story thinking it will not be appreciated by the audience. But the fact is, their reaction is not in my hand, but my next story is.

"Kaun?", a psychological thriller directed by Ram Gopal Varma, also featured Urmila Matondkar and Sushant Singh in key roles. The film tells the tale of a serial killer and another individual locked up in the same house on a stormy evening. The talented actor terms it as "great acknowledgement and encouragement".

Bajpayee who been appreciated for his roles in "Satya", "Shool", "Raajneeti", "Gangs of Wasseypur" series, "Aligarh" and "Bhonsle", shares that because of his role in 'Dial 100', he got an idea about crime. He says: "Crime as a genre is not just engaging but also eye opening. Crime Patrol Satark has been doing that for a while now and I was happy to associate with the show as an anchor for 3 episodes.
