Addressing a large gathering in Saundatti town in Belagavi district, Shah said that in the 2018, people gave 11 seats to the BJP. "Had you given all the 18 seats to the BJP, there wouldn't have been a JD (S)-Congress coalition government in Karnataka," he said. The BJP increased its tally in the district to 13 through Ooperation Lotus after senior leaders Ramesh Jarkiholi and Mahesh Kumatalli got elected in the by-polls.

While the poll still puts the Congress in the pole position, hectic and energetic campaigning by Modi during the last leg of vote seeking has improved the fortunes of the BJP. In the opinion polls for the Assembly elections conducted during March and April, the BJP appeared quite far behind the Congress, both in terms of vote share and number of seats.

Dozens of BJP and Bajrang Dal workers gathered outside Gandhi Bhavan and started raising religious slogans and chanting Hanuman Chalisa. On an information about the protest, police had tightened the security at Gandhi Bhavan by deploying force and erecting barricades.

There are allegations that Joshi was one of the leaders instrumental in denying a ticket to Jagadish Shettar, Lingayat strongman and former Chief Minister from his traditional bastion Hubbali. Even though anti-incumbency and alleged arrogance of Amrut Desai is a worrying factor for the BJP, it was Joshi who had arranged a seat for the sitting MLA being his protege.

"Karnataka will not leave abuses just like that. Will you punish them? Raise the slogan of 'Jai Bajrang Bali' and press the button for BJP at polling booths," PM Modi stated. Addressing his second rally for the day in the poll-bound state at Hattikeri in Ankola of Uttara Kannada district, PM Modi stated, "We have a vision for the development of the state. Congress has lost the trust of the people."

"There is not only Narendra Modi in this world, there are other people as well," Gandhi said while addressing a gathering here on Tuesday. "Modi ji, talk about your leaders, talk about Karnataka, talk about youths," he quipped. "I came here and first of all, mentioned the names of senior leaders of our party. In BJP meetings, Prime Minister doesn't mention anybody. The way, I take the names of Siddaramaiah Ji, Shivakumara Ji, Kharge Ji... Modi Ji will never talk about any leader," the Congress leader asserted.

"The Congress is talking about banning the Bajrang Dal. They have likened the Bajrang Dal with PFI, an anti-national and terrorist organisation that has already been banned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi," CM Bommai said during BJP's election campaign in Dharwad.

Sources said that a major tragedy was averted and the pilot managed to land the chopper safely. The incident happened when Shivakumar was travelling to Mulubagal from HAL airport in Bengaluru. While Shivakumar's chopper was in the air, it was hit by the vulture. Due to the impact, the front glass of the helicopter was damaged and broken.

He said Congress MLA Priyank Kharge termed Modi as 'useless'. Bommai appealed to the people to vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party to teach a lesson to the Congress. Speaking at a poll rally in favour of Krishnaraja BJP candidate Srivatsa here on Monday, he said Mysuru is a historic, heritage, and world-famous city and the BJP has been strong in the last three decades.

According to BJP insiders, the saffron party is banking heavily on the wave to be created by national leaders in the run-up to the elections. The party leadership has planned a series of meetings, public rallies, and roadshows of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to counter the heat.
