Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar along with his deputy and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav met Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in the presence of Rahul Gandhi. The meeting took place at Kharge's residence. After the meeting, the four addressed the media jointly.

In different phases, the BJP leaders were trying to set narratives depending on the popularity of a particular leader. The saffron party has been unleashing scathing attacks on Nitish in the Legislative Assembly and at public meetings in the state. His statement came soon after Upendra Kushwaha resigned from the JD-U's primary membership and announced formation of a new political party. Kushwaha had opposed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's announcement to make Tejashwi Yadav the CM candidate in 2025 and the JD-U probably cames under pressure in wake of this. We have not decided who will be the CM candidate.

The decision was taken after a two-day meeting of his supporters in Patna's Sinha Library and the announcement was made at a press conference, during which Kushwaha also said that he will soon resign from the post of MLC as well. "I have requested the speaker to give me the time so that I can hand over the resignation letter to him.

During the meeting at Sinha library, the rebel leader is likely to disclose his future plan of action. Around 5,000 party leaders from across the state have assembled at the venue in his support. With this, Kushwaha has managed to prove his strength before the party and Nitish Kumar.

The statement came soon after JD(U) MLC Maheshwar Mahto met Upendra Kushwaha in the latter's official residence in Patna on Wednesday. "I want to make JD(U) stronger. It may be possible that the face of Upendra Kushwaha is unacceptable for some persons, but it is a different matter. I want to say that if any deal would happen with the RJD and Nitish Kumar.
