The actor politician was reacting to the arrest and judicial remand of TDP supremo and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in alleged skill development scam.

He gave this assurance to a delegation of Muslim representatives who called on him over the proposed Uniform Civil Code (UCC). According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), he told them that the Centre has not yet prepared the draft bill on the UCC and no one knows its contents.

Rayudu, who has represented both Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad, now part of Telangana after the bifurcation of the state, in domestic cricket has been touring Guntur district for the last few days "to understand the issues confronting the people at the grassroots level," reports in the local media said.

At a review meeting held here on the implementation of MoUs signed at the Global Investors Summit 23 held at Visakhapatnam, the Chief Minister told officials to identify the products having global demand, state-of-the-art technology needed for the small enterprises to produce such products and the ways to market them by tie-ups with MNCs.

An announcement in this regard was made on the second and final day of the party plenary here on Saturday. YSRCP general secretary V. Vijaysai Reddy, who was the returning officer for the election of the party president, announced the unanimous election of Jagan Mohan Reddy as the lifetime president of the party.

Hailing the nomination of the first tribal and also a woman for the post of the President, YSRCP declared its support to her. Chief Minister and YSRCP leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, however, will not be travelling to Delhi to be present during the filing of nomination by Murmu. The Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said in a statement on Thursday night that Jagan Mohan Reddy will not be present during filing of nomination due to the State Cabinet meeting which was already scheduled.

Amjad Basha and Narayana Swamy are the only ministers who retained the posts of Deputy Chief Ministers in the new Cabinet. Amjad Basha will look after the minority welfare department while Narayana Swamy will handle the excise portfolio. Other deputy CMs are Muthyala Naidu (Panchayat Raj and Rural Development), Kittu Satyanarayana (Endowments) and Rajanna Dora (Tribal Welfare).
