The counsel for Enforcement Directorate (ED) opposed her plea to travel abroad. The agency said that "she's an actress, and a foreign national, and the matter in which she is being tried is at a crucial stage". Special Judge Shailendra Malik issued notice to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and sought its reply to Fernandez's application seeking permission to travel to Bahrain from December 23. Fernandez also appeared before the court during the brief hearing. On December 12, the court had adjourned her hearing in connection with the money extortion case for Tuesday.

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) of Patiala House court transferred the defamation case to Metropolitan Magistrate Kapil Gupta, who listed it for next month. On December 12, Nora had filed a defamation case in a court here against Jacqueline, alleging that the latter made defamatory allegations against her for "malicious reasons" and to destroy her career.

Jacqueline Fernandez's statement was recorded under Section 164 (recording of confessions and statements) of Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). On Thursday, the Patiala House court had deferred the hearing in the money laundering case involving Jacqueline and multi-millionaire conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar till December 12. Earlier, on November 15, the court had granted pre-arrest bail to Jacqueline.

The ED had recently filed its second supplementary charge sheet naming Jacqueline as an accused. On September 26, the court had granted interim protection from arrest to Jacqueline.

The ED made this submission while opposing the actor's bail plea in connection with a money laundering case pertaining to Rs 200 crore extortion matter involving multimillionaire conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, an official said on Saturday. The IANS is in possession of ED documents which confirm that she had deleted data from her cell phone.

On November 10, the court will hear the arguments on her regular bail plea. The scrutiny of the documents will also be done on the date.
