Israel approves 2 new settlements in Golan Heights

In a special cabinet meeting held in the Golan, the ministers approved a plan to strengthen the Israeli settlements in the originally-Syrian territory, according to a statement issued by Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's office. Under the plan, two new settlements, Asif and Matar, will be established, each with about 2,000 new housing units, Xinhua news agency reported.
Israeli missiles target Syria again

According to a military statement, the renewed Israeli strike was carried out after midnight with several missiles fired over the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights toward military sites in the southern region, Xinhua news agency reported, citing SANA. One soldier was killed during the attack and damage was reported at the targeted sites, it added.
Israel calls world powers to take 'hard line' toward Iranian nuke talks

"I call on every country negotiating with Iran in Vienna to take a strong line and make it clear to Iran that it is impossible to negotiate and enrich uranium at the same time," Xinhua news agency quoted Bennett as saying. The Israeli Prime Minister made the remark while reffering to the latest round of talks which has been briefly paused in Austria's capital Vienna last week.
President Putin stresses two-state solution to Israeli-Palestinian conflict

The current conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians must be resolved in accordance with previously adopted resolutions at the UN Security Council, Xinhua news agency quoted Putin as saying during a meeting with visiting Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Sochi. The problem must be solved on an equitable basis that takes into account the interests of all people living in the region, Putin stressed.
Israeli Air Force commander holds 1st visit to UAE

The UAE normalised ties with Israel following the signing of the Abraham Accords in September 2020 and Al Marar reaffirmed that the historic pact will not affect the UAE's support for the Palestinian cause. Al Marar was speaking on the opening day of the Emirates Policy Center's (EPC) eighth Abu Dhabi Strategic Debate (ADSD) held on Sunday.
Israel tests new missile detection system

The Defence Ministry issued photos of the system, which is designed in the shape of a massive zeppelin, reports Xinhua news agency. The system, comprised of the High Availability Aerostat System and an advanced radar, designed to detect long-range threats when operating at high altitudes. "It will provide additional detection and early warning capabilities to the existing operational air defence detection array deployed around Israel," the Ministry said in a statement.
Israeli NSO spyware firm says to work to reverse US ban

Earlier on Wednesday, the US Department of Commerce announced in a statement that it added NSO Group, along with three other foreign companies, to the "entity list", a blacklist prohibiting firms from receiving American technologies, reports Xinhua news agency. The move was made after the department ruled that NSO Group engaged "in activities that are contrary to the national security or foreign policy interests of the US".
Khamenei calls regional states' normalisation of ties with Israel 'mistake'

The governments, which recently established diplomatic relations with Israel, "must turn away from this anti-Islamic movement and make up for their great mistakes", Xinhua news agency quoted Khamenei as saying. He urged for the unity among Muslim states to "restore Palestinians' rights" in the face of Israeli occupation of their lands. "The main indicator for the unity of Muslims is the issue of Palestine, and the more seriousness is spent on the restoration of the rights of the Palestinians, the stronger the Islamic unity will become," Khamenei was quoted as saying.
India, Israel, US, UAE ministerial meeting opens possibility of M-E 'Quad'

Jaishankar tweeted after the meeting on Monday with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Foreign Ministers Yair Lapid of Israel and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed of the UAE.
