Index of eight core industries rises 6% in February

According to the data released by the Commerce Ministry, only the crude oil production declined by 4.9 per cent in February 2023 over February 2022. Its cumulative index declined by 1.6 per cent during April to February period of 2022-23 over the corresponding period of last year.

The production of fertilisers, coal, electricity, steel, natural gas, cement and refinery products increased while production of crude oil declined in January 2023 over the corresponding month of last year, said the government data released on Tuesday. ICI measures combined and individual performance of production of eight core industries viz. coal, crude oil, natural gas, refinery products, fertilisers, steel, cement, and electricity.
IIP growth falls to 4.3% in Dec 2022

The industrial growth in December 2021 was 1 per cent. According to the data, the manufacturing sector's output rose 2.6 per cent in December 2022. Among all the key sectors, the electricity sector showed maximum growth of 10.4 per cent, followed by mining at 9.8 per cent and manufacturing at 2.6 per cent.
Industry body seeks lifting curbs for non polluting activities in construction

A CII Delegation led by Harsh Bansal, Convenor, CII Delhi Panel on Urban Development, Real Estate, Infra, met Bhupender Yadav, Minister of Environment, and shared the construction industry concerns on bans imposed on the anticipation of poor air quality. Bansal shared that construction activities can be broadly categorised into two segments: Polluting and Non-polluting activities.
