4th Test: India 62/2 at stumps after rain washes out 3rd session

India lost both their openers early as they went to tea at 62 for the loss of Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma's wickets before heavy downpour caused a deluge in the outfield. While rain stopped, the groundstaff could not drain off the water and make the ground fit for resumption of play.

While thundershowers were predicted, there could still be some play possible before stumps are drawn for the day. Rain is also expected to affect the fourth and fifth day's play of the ongoing Test.

Shubman Gill was caught at second slip by Steve Smith off the bowling of Pat Cummins when the team score was 11 while Rohit Sharma, who looked good for his 74-ball 44, was caught at long on off the bowling of Nathan Lyon after adding 49 for the second wicket with Cheteshwar Pujara.

4th Test: Siraj again subjected to unruly crowd behaviour at Gabba

A report in Sydney Morning Herald quoted a spectator as saying that Siraj was repeatedly called a "grub" by vocal spectators in front of Section 215 and 216 at the stadium.

At Stumps, Australia reached 274/5 after 87 overs, with skipper Tim Paine and Cameron Green remaining unbeaten at 38 and 28 respectively. For the hosts, Labuschagne starred with the bat scoring 108, with the help of nine fours, while Matthew Wade and Steve Smith also made notable contributions of 45 and 36 respectively.
Brisbane Test: India XI has 290-match less combined experience than Australia XI

The overall combined experience of the India playing XI stood at 215 Tests prior to the start of the Brisbane Test, while that of Australia stood at 505, a big difference of 290 Test matches. When one compares the experience of the bowling attacks of the two teams, India's experience stood at just four Tests in comparison to 246 of Australia (excluding Cameron Green who has played three Tests prior to the Brisbane Test).

The 28-year-old visibly seemed to be in a lot of discomfort, holding onto his thighs, after his follow-through as he bowled his fifth delivery during the post-lunch session to Marnus Labuschagne in the 36th over of the Australian innings. Incidentally, it was the same delivery on which skipper Ajinkya Rahane dropped Labuschagne at gully.

At the end of the first session, Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith remained unbeaten at the crease on their respective scores of 19 and 30. Electing to bat, the hosts didn't get off to a good start as both David Warner and Marcus Harris went back to the dressing room with just 17 runs on the scoreboard.
