Delhi University issues special cut-off list

Registrar of the university, Vikas Gupta, said on Monday the special cut-off is only for those candidates who were eligible for admission on the basis of the cut-off list issued earlier but could not take admission due to some reasons. Delhi University has 70,000 seats for undergraduate course. It has so far released three cut-off lists for admission to these 70,000 seats.
DU: PhD holders preferred over NET pass outs for Asst Prof post

In fact, the Parliamentary Committee on Education is of the opinion that the NET should be modified to meet the new norms. The present assessment system is ineffective and has failed to bring the aspiring youths to the teaching profession, it opined. Post the Parliamentary Committee's report, the Delhi University has communicated to the pricipals of its affiliated colleges seeking ad hoc professors' PhD status report.
FYUP likely to be implemented in all central universities

While the UGC is in discussion with the universities, the Education Ministry has also asked the vice-chancellors of all central universities to plan the implementation of FYUP. The Education Ministry wants that the discussion should now begin on 3- and 4-year graduation and another 2-year PG in all 45 central universities of the country, so that the process of implementation gets started.
Ph.D. not mandatory to become Assistant Professor till July 2023: UGC

UGC had initially stipulated in 2018 that Ph.D. will be mandatory from July 2021 but keeping in mind the covid 19 implications and plea from candidates across the country, it has been postponed till July 2023. The plea was made requesting UGC to reconsider as several candidates were facing challenges in completing their degrees to the complications brought by the pandemic.
IIT-Kanpur revamps curriculum as per NEP

The transformative steps were part of the Undergraduate Academic Review Committee Report 2020-21 (UGARC 2020-21), which has been approved by the IIT-K Senate. According to director, IIT-Kanpur Prof Abhay Karandikar, IIT-Kanpur already offers one of the most flexible academic programmes with options of double major, minor and dual degree with option of master's degree in different departments.

NEET-SS 2021 exam: SC notice to Centre on plea against syllabus change

A bench of Justices D.Y. Chandrachud and B.V. Nagarathna issued notice to the NBE, the National Medical Commission and Centre, and scheduled the matter for further hearing on Monday next week. The top court was hearing a plea by Prateek Rastogi and 40 postgraduate qualified doctors, who challenged the abrupt last-minute changes contending it was done to favour general medicine candidates.
BHU 1st to start engineering course in Hindi

BHU will now be the first institute in the country to offer engineering courses in Hindi. This landmark decision is designed to remove the barrier of language in pursuing technical studies as well as boosting national pride among the youth of Uttar Pradesh. initially, the option of Hindi will be restricted to the first year B-Tech students, but in the coming years it will be introduced at higher stages as well.
PGI Chandigarh ranked second best in NIRF rankings

Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, announced the NIRF Rankings-2021 on Thursday, in which the PGIMER competed with 118 institutes from across the country under the medical category. AIIMS, New Delhi, has secured the first position in the category whereas the CMC in Vellore has been ranked third. The PGIMER scored 82.62 this year, improving its overall score by 2.6 points from last year.
Those who opted out in July CA exam won't miss any opportunity, SC told

The top court then asked the applicants to make a representation on the issue to the institute. The ICAI counsel told the bench that an appropriate decision will be taken on the representation within two weeks and added that there will be no loss of opportunity to candidates who had opted out.
