Durga Shankar Mishra to be new Chief Secretary of UP
He will be taking charge on December 31 following superannuation of incumbent Rajendra Kumar Tiwari. According to the notification issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Mishra, a UP cadre IAS officer of the 1984 batch, has been repatriated to his home cadre, after central deputation.

Both had filed for divorce on mutual consent in a family court of Jaipur around nine months back. On Tuesday, the court granted them permission for separation. Both were present in the court. The 'celebrity' couple got married in March 2018 and their love story took the social media by storm. Athar is Kashmiri, while Tina was born in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh).

The appointment restores the three-member commission to its full strength, which will now oversee the next set of crucial assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Goa, Manipur and Uttarakhand next year. Pandey, a 1984-batch Uttar Pradesh cadre officer, has been appointed to the post in the Election Commission with effect from the date he assumes the office.

The war of words erupted on Thursday after the Commissioner of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), Shilpa Nag, held a press conference to announce her decision to resign from her post, accusing Mysuru DC Sindhuri of humiliating her at every step. However, hours after Nag's announcement, Sindhuri flatly denied all the accusations and termed them as "contrary to real facts".
