The party workers outside the BJP office were seen raising "Modi hai toh mumkin hai" slogans, as coloured smoke filled the air.

Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, Rajsamand MP Diya Kumari, and Union Minister and Jodhpur MP Gajendra Singh Shekhawat are among those being considered. However, BJP sources noted that the party is known for springing surprises, and another strong contender could also emerge unexpectedly.

The electoral setback has also weakened the Congress's position within the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc, affecting its ability to negotiate for a larger share of seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

A high-level delegation representing JD(U) from Uttar Pradesh have met the Bihar Chief Minister in Patna in this regard. Led by Satyendra Patel, the Convener of Uttar Pradesh JD(U) unit, the delegation included about 75 prominent party leaders and dedicated workers hailing from 10 different Lok Sabha constituencies in Uttar Pradesh.

The Congress after registering a thumping victory by winning 136 seats in the 224-Karnataka state legislature, implementing five guarantee schemes and consolidating its position, wants to leave no stone unturned to wrestle more than 20 Lok Sabha seats. Presently BJP holds 25 Parliamentary seats out of 28 in the state.

Singh, a former IAS officer, contested the Lok Sabha poll for the first time in 2014 and became the Union Power Minister. 

Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi were in Jharkhand's Deoghar where they offered prayers to Lord Shiva at Baba Baidyanath Dham. "We have visited the temple of Baba and taken the blessings before going into the war of 2024 Lok Sabha poll. We will visit some more temples and take the blessings of god and goddess," he said.

RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav along with his son and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, RLD leader Jayant Chaudhary and others too were also in attendance.

At that time, JD-U was part of the NDA. In the general elections, the bigger parties like the BJP and the JD-U had contested 17 seats each in Bihar, while the Ram Vilash Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party were given the six remaining seats.

Party chief Badruddin Ajmal had earlier said that the party opposes the BJP and will back the ‘INDIA’ bloc. The MLA, citing Ajmal’s statement, said: "In the event that the ‘INDIA’ alliance needs a couple of additional seats in Assam in order to establish the country's next government in 2024, our party will gladly support it."
