In the FIR, Flipkart said that it learnt from media reports that on April 28-29, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) conducted raids in Jamia Nagar, Delhi. It was reported that during the raid, 50 kg of high quality heroin, 47 kg of suspected narcotics and Rs 30 lakh of drug money in cash and other incriminating documents were recovered by the NCB from unknown accused persons.

"They have now started taking undue advantage of the pandemic by making illegitimate financial gains by supplying non-essential items which have been strictly prohibited by many state administrations due to ongoing lockdowns to prevent the spread of Covid-19," said the letter written by CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal.

The CAIT also announced that more than 40,000 small and big trade associations across the country will observe March 25 as 'e-commerce Democracy Day' and on March 28, traders all over the country will burn effigies of Amazon and Flipkart as part of 'Holika Dahan' at more than 1,000 places across the country.

CAIT has accused Amazon, Flipkart, Zomato, Swiggy and various other e-commerce entities for violation of mandatory display of Country of Origin and Manufacturer, seller details on products sold through their respective E-Commerce Portals as required under the Consumers Protection (E-Commerce) Rules,2020, Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Act, 2011 and guidelines of Food Safety & Standards Authority of India.
