ESA telescope gets ready to probe universe's dark mysteries

The space telescope will create the largest, most accurate 3D map of the Universe ever produced, observing shapes and movements of billions of galaxies across 10 billion years of cosmic time, over more than a third of the sky. From this data, Euclid will reveal how the Universe has expanded and how structures have formed over cosmic history, revealing more about the role of gravity and the nature of dark energy and dark matter.
Christodoulides wins Cyprus presidential election

Christodoulides, who ran as an independent received 51.97 per cent of the votes, compared to 48.03 per cent received by his opponent, Andreas Mavroyiannis, who also ran as an independent and had the support of the left-wing AKEL party. Christodoulides will take office on March 1, to succeed Nicos Anastasiades, who already served two terms and couldn't seek re-election according to the law, Xinhua news agency reported.

European Union to train up to 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers

The European Union Military Assistance Mission (EUMAM) has a non-executive mandate to provide training to up to 15,000 Ukrainian army personnel in multiple locations among EU member states, Xinhua news agency quoted the Council as saying. It also announced it has adopted a 16 million euro assistance measure under the European Peace Facility (EPF) to support capacity building for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
