The four members were arrested by the police on Sunday night, as per the reports. Recently, a fresh case under the provisions of Unlawful Activity Prevention Act was lodged by the Delhi Police against the members of banned PFI.

According to a police official, the security was provided on the directions issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The 'Z-Plus' category security cover is the second highest security provided to VVIPs after the Special Protection Group (SPG) that exclusively secures India's Prime Minister.

Mohammed Zubair was charged under the Indian Penal Code's Sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence) and 295A (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) for one of his objectionable tweets.

The Delhi Police has made elaborate security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident. Each person and every vehicle is being checked throughly at the Singhu border. The Delhi Police said the gathering of the farmers can cause traffic problems and untoward incidents across the national capital and hence they have made security arrangements. Police personnel have been deployed across the national capital, mostly at the borders in large number. Apart from this, the Delhi Police has also put extra barricades at every borders.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, while speaking to the media persons before getting detained, accused the Delhi Police of manhandling the partymen. "We are standing here on the issues of price rise and unemployment. We wanted to move forward but the police did not allow us,"Gandhi said.

The government, for the second consecutive time, decided to go ahead with an inter-cadre appointment to choose Sanjay Arora as the new Commissioner of Delhi Police. Arora, a 1988-batch Tamil Nadu cadre IPS officer, will succeed Rakesh Asthana, a Gujarat cadre IPS officer, whose tenure was set to end on Sunday.

Zubair was seeking restoration of the device/laptop or document seized by the police, being beyond the allegation in the FIR. Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav allowed four weeks' time for the Police to respond to the plea. The court also granted liberty to the fact-checker for filing rejoinder and additional documents in response.

The victim-turned-accused was identified as Chloe Renee McLaughlin, who arrived in Delhi on May 3. The daughter of a former Army officer, she is a graduate and resides in Washington DC. Deputy Commissioner of Police, New Delhi, Amrutha Guguloth said the US Embassy had approached them, stating that the woman was assaulted and beaten by an unidentified individual known to her and is missing after reporting the incident to her family in the US.

Delhi Police said, "From the investigation conducted so far and material on record, it is established that the present incident was in continuation of the protests against CAA and NRC of 2019 and 2020 in Shaheen Bagh and the north-east Delhi riots of February 2020, which got further aggravated after Ram Navami incidents on April 2022 in different parts of the country."

According to police, he has allegedly formatted his electronic devices and is refusing to hand them over to police despite being repeatedly asked. "Zubair was deliberately using religion to outrage a religious group. He was doing this to gain popularity," the police has alleged. The Special Cell has said that he was evasive and not cooperating with the officials.
