India carries out successful training launch of medium-range ballistic missile Agni-1

"The missile is capable of striking targets with a very high degree of precision. The training launch successfully validated all operational and technical parameters of the missile," the defence ministry informed. Earlier, a successful test of Agni 5 missile was carried out in December last year. The Agni 5 is a nuclear capable ballistic missile.

Indian Navy had evaluated both French Dassault Aviation’s Rafale-M and the US-based Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet last year for INS-Vikrant. According to some media reports, the Indian Navy has informed the defence ministry that Rafale-M is more suitable for meeting the operational requirements and criteria than F/A-18 Super Hornets.

Govt gives nod to procure Pralay ballistic missiles for armed forces

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) had last year in December successfully conducted the maiden flight test of the indigenously developed surface-to-surface Pralay missile. Pralay is capable of striking and destroying targets in the range of 150-500 km, and can also be used in the night to attack enemy's targets.
INS Arnala, Navy's first anti-submarine warfare shallow water craft, launched

This is the first of eight such ships being built by GRSE for the Navy. Eight more ASWSWC are being built by Cochin Shipyard Ltd. The first ship will be completed and delivered well within schedule. So will be the others, adding necessary punch to the Navy's capability to patrol coastal areas where enemy submarines could be lurking.
