Road caves in, house collapses due to rain in Delhi

As per the report, a team of Public Works Department (PWD) officials of the Delhi Government has reached the spot and repair work of the road is being carried out. Delhi traffic police have diverted traffic to avoid any untoward incident. Delhi traffic police issued an alert on its official twitter handle, "Traffic alert - the metro site and a house have collapsed on the way from Khaira turn to Najafgarh, please avoid using this route."
Cyclone Tauktae: Arabian Sea barge tragedy toll rises to 37

On Wednesday, at least 26 persons on board the drifting Barge Papaa-305 were found dead in the stormy Arabian Sea in the aftermath of the Cyclone Tauktae. Another 40-plus persons are still missing for whom searches continue, as the Centre ordered a probe into the tragedy. The 37 bodies have been brought to Mumbai by Indian Navy ships

Search on for 89 missing from barge during Cyclone Tauktae

By late Tuesday, the IN-ICG teams managed to rescue 184 from the sunken Barge Papaa-305, with the help of Seaking helicopters, two naval ships and two offshore supply vessels. Besides, IN and ICG also saved the lives of all 137 who were marooned on the Barge GAL Constructor with helicopter and ship operations near the Colaba Point.

All the 137 people marooned on the Barge GAL Constructor have been successfully rescued by the IN and ICG teams after daring helicopter and ship operations braving extreme weather conditions, battling tall waves, heavy rains and strong winds of over 100 km/hr, near the Colaba Point.

The met department warned that the ferocity of the cyclonic Storm named by Oman might equal that of 'Amphan' that devastated Kolkata and adjoining areas on May 19 last year during the lockdown. Though the meteorological department is not sure about the direction and the speed of the wind but they said that a low depression has been formed in the East Central Bay and its adjoining areas.
