Tendulkar pips Sangakkara to be the greatest Test batsman in 21st century

With 891 points, former Australia skipper Smith is the world No.1 Test batsman while Williamson is now second with 886 points. Kohli, with 814 points displaced England captain Joe Root, who is now fifth with 797 points. Two more Indians featuring in the top-10 - wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and Rohit Sharma with 747 points each - are joint sixth.

Williamson and Watling were rested for New Zealand's second Test against England which the Kiwis won this week to seal their first series in England in 22 years. Known to have a pronounced seam, and swing more in English conditions, the Dukes ball will be a challenge for the Indian team which is used to playing with the SG Test ball at home and did not get any warm-up match in the lead-up to the WTC final.
ECB apologises for laying out used pitch for India-England women's Test
"We are all disappointed that the wicket for the Test match against India will have had 37 overs played on it. We know that England Women deserve a fresh wicket and we are sorry that we were unable to provide that in this instance," said the ECB. On Friday, Sussex beat Gloucestershire by five wickets in a T20 Blast game that went on for 37.2 overs on the Bristol pitch where the women's Test will be played.
