DDCA elections to be held on October 25, 26 and 27

"It is expedient to issue the schedule of elections and therefore, by the powers vested in undersigned under the Articles of Association of the Company as well as the resolutions passed on 02.07.2021, following schedule is hereby issued," said the election officer, Achal Kumar Joti, in a statement before mentioning the dates for the elections and the lead-up to it.

ICC T20 World Cup: India to take on Pakistan on October 24

The tournament, which kicks off in the UAE and Oman on October 17, will see the final being played in Dubai on November 14 (Sunday), with November 15 (Monday) acting as the reserve day. The tournament will begin with the Round 1 Group B encounter between hosts Oman and Papua New Guinea on October 17, with Scotland and Bangladesh, the other teams in Group B, clashing in an evening match.

England, who were bowled out on the last ball of the day, batted for 128 overs to defy the Indian bowlers who at times looked clueless and bowled plenty of no-balls. Mohammed Siraj was the pick of the Indian bowlers, taking four wickets for 94 runs while Ishant Sharma chipped in with 3/69, including two off successive deliveries. Mohammed Shami, who took the last wicket, finished with two for 95.
2nd Test: Root takes England to 119/3 after India score 364 on Day 2

England, who lost two wickets off successive balls immediately after tea to Mohammed Siraj (2/34), were reduced to 23 for two before Root and opener Rory Burns (49) added 85 for the third wicket to stabilise the innings. First Indian century at Lord's was in English colours

And he scored his century at Lord's in the second Test match of the 1930 Ashes, which saw Don Bradman notch up 974 runs, including his career-highest 334 at Headingly, Leeds. Duleepsinhji, who had to retire from international cricket in 1931 because of recurring ill-health, was the second highest scorer for England in the series. He made 416 runs against Herbert Sutcliffe's 436.
IND vs ENG 2nd Test: Rain at Lord's delays start of England vs India match

A little rain just five minutes before the toss meant the covers are on the pitch and also all over the playing square. If the drizzle stops and covers are taken off, then toss will happen at 3.20 pm IST and the match will start by 3.45 pm IST. The first Test between the two teams was also affected by inclement weather with the entire fif'h day's play washed off by heavy rains. The match ended in a draw.
2nd Test: To play or not to play Ashwin

Ravindra Jadeja's success with the bat (56 in first innings) may keep the door closed on Ashwin even though the India left-arm spinner failed with the ball in the first Test. He bowled 16 overs without a wicket, conceding 50 runs.Former India spinner Maninder Singh says that in rain-affected matches in England, spinners can only play a supporting role and it is the pacers who have to be the strike bowlers.
