Chhattisgarh CM to watch 'The Kashmir Files', invites all MLAs
Taking a lead in the Congress, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednedsday will be watching 'The Kashmir Files' movie in Raipur. He has invited all the MLAs from the state to watch the movie. Baghel will be watching the 8 p.m. show in a cinema hall in the state capital.
Congress' G-23 took defensive stance at CWC meet
The group of dissenters within the Congress, also known as G-23, took a defensive stance during the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Sunday, as their representatives raised only 'technical points' and did not press for a change in the leadership as they had demanded in 2020.
BJP got increased support from all castes in UP polls
The alliance has 117 such MLAs whereas the SP alliance has only 11. The BSP, Congress and Jansatta Dal (Loktantrik) have one MLA each from upper caste category. All SC/ST MLAs have won only in the reserved constituencies, within which, the BJP alliance has the highest number (65) followed by the SP alliance (20) and Jansatta Dal (Loktantrik) (1).
DMK slams ally Congress for election debacle in five states
The DMK has lashed out at the Congress for the debacle in the recent elections to the five states. In its editorial on Monday, the party mouthpiece 'Murasoli' said that the lethargic attitude of the Congress to unite other opposition parties in its fold was the reason for the drubbing in the polls. The editorial also said that opposition unity was the need of the hour to oust the BJP from the centre.
JD-U defends Nitish Kumar after verbal spat with Speaker
Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Parliamentary Affairs Minister of Bihar, appeared soon after the spat between Kumar and speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha, saying that the Chief Minister has given explanation based on laws in the Constitution. "Nitish Kumar has given explanations based on laws in the Constitution. He rightly pointed out that the investigation report will be submitted in the court," Chaudhary said.

He also revealed that he is waiting for road map from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to overthrow the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government. The Jana Sena leader was addressing a mammoth public meeting at Ippatam village in Amaravati capital region to mark ninth formation day of Jana Sena. He ruled out split of the anti-YSRCP votes, thus indirectly hinting at at poll alliance with the TDP and BJP. He, however, said decision regarding alliance will be taken at the time of elections.
BJP keeps CM aspirants guessing in three states by not taking final decision
The BJP is keeping its aspirants guessing in three states as the party has not decided who will be the Chief Minister in Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur with the delay in calling the legislative party meetings. The party emerged victorious in four state assembly polls and there is no certainty over the chief ministers except in Uttar Pradesh.

The first phase of polls was considered tough for the BJP, mainly because of farmers' agitation and Jat anger. Besides, this was the first time that Jats and Muslims were voting together after the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots. Jayant Chaudhary was also riding high on the wave of sympathy since this was the first election after his father Ajit Singh's demise.

The Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections that concluded on Thursday, banked largely on the consolidation of OBC leaders in almost all the major political parties. However, the poll results have shown up shocking results as a number of prominent OBC leaders have lost their seats. Taking a cue from UP, BJP may field 170-180 fresh faces in Rajasthan
Taking the recent BJP's victory in Uttar Pradesh as a case study, the BJP in Rajasthan may field 170-180 fresh candidates in the next Assembly elections to be held in 2023, party sources said. As per party officials, the BJP in Uttar Pradesh denied tickets to at least 104 sitting MLAs, who remained comparatively inert or inactive both in the organisation and in their constituencies during their tenure.
