In-charge of BJP's National Information and Technology Department Amit Malviya tweeted, "The Chintan Shivir clearly didn't serve any purpose. Soon after, Congress saw high profile exits. Now it has disappointed it's Rajasthan, Chattisgarh (both election bound) and Maharashtra units by denying nomination to locals for RS. The Gandhis can't see beyond their coterie."
BJP names 16 candidates for RS polls; Sitharaman to contest from Karnataka

The party has fielded Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman from Karnataka and Piyush Goyal from Maharashtra. In a statement, BJP national general secretary Arun Singh said that the party's Central Election Committee has approved 16 names for the Rajya Sabha elections. BJP has fielded finance minister Sitharaman and actor-turned-politician Jaggesh from Karnataka, while Kavita Patidar will contest from Madhya Pradesh. From Maharashtra, Union minister Goyal and Anil Sukhdevrao Bonde have been fielded.
Hardik Patel hints at joining BJP next week

Patel in a programme on a TV channel has hinted that he is joining the BJP, and the party will decide from which constituency he will contest the assembly elections. He also said that he is going to lead an Ekta Yatra from Somnath temple to the Statue of Unity.

The BJP is also planning to identify individuals among the backward Muslim community for leadership role in the party and government as a trust building measures to draw maximum benefits in the upcoming assembly polls and ultimately general elections 2024. The saffron party believes that the most of the votes its gets are from the backward Muslim communities who are also beneficiaries of many welfare schemes of the union and party ruled state governments.
BJP leader hacked to death in Chennai

The incident occurred at Chindarapet in Chennai. Balachandran was facing life threats and was provided a personal security officer (PSO) by the Tamil Nadu home department. The murder of Balachandran has raised serious issues of law and order in Chennai as a small-time financier was hacked to death publicly in a busy traffic junction.
