On Wednesday, Lallu Singh, a BJP MP from Ayodhya, said that anyone who comes to seek the blessings of Lord Ram is welcome. Lallu Singh's statement is in stark contrast from that of BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who has been vehemently opposing Thackeray's visit, saying that he should first apologise to north Indians for his campaign against them before stepping into the holy city.

The SC's judgment on this much debated and long pending OBC reservation issue has put both BJP and the Congress into a dilemma - what to do and what not to do. With less than two years left for the state Assembly polls, both the political parties advocate for increasing OBC's quota from the existing 14 per cent to 27 per cent - the step which is seen as a move to lure the OBC voters.

In a letter to the NDMC chairman, Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta requested to rename Tughlaq Road, Akbar Road, Aurangzeb Lane, Humayun Road, Shahjahan Road, and Babar Lane. Gupta suggested that Tughlaq Road should be renamed as Guru Gobind Singh Marg, Akbar Road as Maharana Pratap Marg, Aurangzeb Lane as APJ Abdul Kalam Lane, Humayun Road as Maharshi Valmiki Road, Shahjahan Road be renamed as Bipin Rawat Road and Babar Lane as Khudiram Bose Lane.

While conveying the message that the polls will be held on time, the BJP leadership has asked the party's lawmakers, both MPs and MLAs, in Gujarat to submit proposals of development projects for approval of the state government from their Local Area Development (LAD) funds before the elections.

Local AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan and Congress leaders blamed the civic body and staged high octane protests after MCD team reached Shaheen Bagh to raze "illegal" structures in the area on Monday. Many Congress leaders were detained, following which the state Congress president Anil Kumar reached Kalkaji police station.

According to insiders, Shah, the former national President of the party, made it clear to state leaders that they are free to quit if they are dissatisfied with instructions from the top, and should only make their dissatisfaction public after quitting. The other option is to discuss the matter with the top leadership in New Delhi.

Attacking Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Bagga released a video saying that "if Kejriwal thinks that he has the power and the police and he can frighten the BJP activists, then he should register 1,000 cases against them not just one." Bagga went on to say that "Kejriwal used Punjab ministers and AAP spokespersons against me which proves that they are afraid and cannot sleep properly.

Nadda held a meeting with the Delhi BJP leaders on Saturday in which he was also briefed about the Punjab Police action against party youth wing national secretary Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga. Sources said that national vice president and Delhi in-charge Baijayant Jay Panda, party state unit president Adesh Gupta and state general secretary (organisation) Siddharthan were present in the meeting with party chief Nadda.

The OBC and women are the largest constituents of the country's population. A lot of theories like a candidate from Schedule Tribe (ST), Schedule Caste (SC) or from south India are playing in the political circles, and by all probability, the BJP-led NDA will nominate a candidate with an eye on the 2024 Parliamentary elections.
