Following the demise of Mohammad Shahabuddin, his family members have blamed Lalu Prasad family for maintaining distance with them. Even Tejashwi Yadav or Tej Pratap Yadav did not go to the grave of Shahabuddin in New Delhi to pay thier respects, as per Heena Shahab and her other family members. Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav, however, attended the wedding function of her son Osama Sahab in Siwan in the past.

The nomination for the five seats of Rajya Sabha coming under Bihar begins Tuesday. It is expected that two seats can go to the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), two to the BJP and one seat to JD(U). The arrival of Lalu Prasad has significance in the context of the recent political developments. Nitish Kumar and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav have come close in the last one month or so and the relations between Nitish Kumar and the BJP don't seem to be so warm.

While remembering his early days as a student of an engineering college, he said: "When we used to study in engineering college, there was no girl in our class... it seemed so bad. On Friday evening, Nitish Kumar attended the wedding function of his old loyalist's son in Bihar's Arrah town. For RCP Singh, it was evident that he was the closest person to Nitish Kumar at a time. During the function, the gap between these two leaders was visible in the photographs.

Nitish Kumar, while reacting to Union Home Minister Amit Shah's statement on the issue, said that the way cases of coronavirus are increasing in the country, he should concern himself on a prevention plan. "The way cases are increasing in the country, it is a biggest challenge for us. They should have to look after its prevention. We will think about any policies that would come before us," he said.

"Apart from these four political parties, there is no future for other political parties. In democracy, anyone has the right to do political experiments or make political parties. There are hundreds of political parties in the country. If anyone wants to make a new canal, it would not affect evergreen rivers," he said.

Hence, he is maintaining distance with BJP leaders and showing closeness to opposition leaders like Tejashwi Yadav and Chirag Paswan in the recent past.

"Recently, I posted "Entry Nitish Chacha (Uncle)" and now he has come on our invitation for the Iftar party on Friday evening. I am sure "Khela Hobe" in Bihar and we will form the government. Several leaders like Shahnawaz Hussain, Chirag Paswan, Awadesh Narayan Singh, Vijay Sinha had participated in the Iftar party on his invitation at the former CM's residence, he further said.
