The saffron party, which was confined to a few urban pockets a few years ago, is today confident that Telangana will become its second gateway into South India after Karnataka. After winning four Lok Sabha seats in 2019, the BJP continued its forward march and consolidated its position by winning two Assembly by-elections and posting an impressive performance in Greater Hyderabad's municipal elections.

Such a practice was started by Chandrashekher Yadav, the education minister under the RJD quota in the Nitish Kumar government, who gave a controversial statement on the Ramcharitmanas. He said that the holy book of the Hindus spread hatred in society. Even as the Ramcharitmanas row was raging, JD-U ex-MLC Gulam Rasool Balyawi threatened to make every city in the country like a ground of Karbala.

Nadda, on a day's visit to the state in preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, visited the dargah, with his head covered, and offered a 'chadar' with folded hands, with help from the dargah's servitors and officials. A large number of BJP activists also accompanied him in the small dargah premises.

An indication of this came when deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak appointed Rajbhar as the vice president of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Foundation. Pathak heads the foundation and Rajbhar, thereafter, attended a meeting of the foundation. Rajbhar said that this was a non-political programme. "This is not a political platform, and we are political people. This should not be seen in a different way," he said.

While Patel got 2,12,480 votes, Congress' Amee Yajnik finished a distant second with 21,120 votes. In Jamnagar North, BJP candidate Rivaba Jadeja, who's the wife of India cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, made an impressive electoral debut by defeating AAP's Karshanbhai Karmur by close to 60,000 votes.
