Shawn Levy, the director of 'Free Guy' and the recently released 'The Adam Project', is set to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe as he has been signed to direct the third instalment of the anti-hero film 'Deadpool', reports 'Variety'.

Actor Benedict Cumberbatch, who portrays rancher Phil Burbank in the 'Power of the Dog', said it was a "very new experience" to try and delve into his subconscious to find inspiration for his performance, but enjoyed the "trip" when he was eventually able to let his mind drift in a certain way when he fell asleep.

Currently presided by Mariano Barroso, the Spanish Film Academy created the award to "honor artists that have contributed to cinema as a medium that brings together different cultures and people". Blanchett was recognised for her impactful work both on and off the screen worldwide, as an award-winning actor, producer, artistic director and humanitarian. She will receive the award at a gala ceremony on February 12 in Valencia, Spain, reports variety.com.

Chinese fans of David Fincher's cult classic were enraged over the weekend when they noticed a version of the movie available on popular Chinese streaming platform Tencent Video completely removing its iconic ending, the report said. The finale of 'Fight Club' had shocked audiences when the film hit theatres in 1999.

'Mission: Impossible 7', which was earlier supposed to make its debut on September 30, will now premiere on July 14, 2023, reports 'Variety'. 'Mission: Impossible 8', which was slated for a July 7, 2023, release, will instead open on June 28, 2024.

The statement issued on Friday read: "Manish Shah, promoter of Goldmines [Telefilms], along with the makers of 'Shehzada' have jointly decided to withdraw the theatrical release of 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' Hindi version. 'Shehzada' makers are thankful to Manish Shah for agreeing to the same." Goldmines Telefilms, incidentally, had picked up the Hindi rights of the Allu Arjun blockbuster, 'Pushpa: The Rise'.

The voting for the Oscar nominations is set to begin on Thursday, January 27, and it will continue until Tuesday, February 1. Two Indian films -- the controversial Tamil film 'Jai Bhim' starring Suriya and Lijomol Jose and Priyadarshan's Malayalam period drama 'Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham' (Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea), with Mohanlal playing the titular character -- are on the list of 276 movies eligible for this year's Academy Awards.

‘Rangasthalam starring Ram Charan is all set to release in Hindi in theatres next month. Noted producer Manish Shah is planning the release to bring some respite for the cinema owners and to end the dry spell caused by the Covid pandemic. ‘Rangasthalam' was a colossal success at the time of its release and was Telugu film industry's biggest hit in 2018.
