Bajaj Auto reports 11% rise in December sales
According to the company, total sales during the month under review grew to 3,72,532 units from 336,055 units sold during the corresponding month of 2019. However, Bajaj Auto's total domestic sales declined, standing at 139,606 units -- down (-) 9 per cent -- from 153,163 units sold in December last year. The company's overall exports zoomed by 27 per cent to 232,926 units from 182,892 units shipped out during the like month of 2019.
Nissan to export Magnite to Indonesia, South Africa
Our priority for Magnite will be the Indian market. The first two countries to which the model would be exported are Indonesia and South Africa, Rakesh Srivastava, Managing Director, told reporters on Monday. He said Nissan Motor-Renult joint venture car plant near here will start third shift operations by February as Magnite has got a good market response.
Hero MotoCorp logs over 5% growth in December 2020 sales
The company sold 447,335 units of motorcycles and scooters last month from an off-take of 424,845 units during the corresponding month of the previous year. Besides, the Hero MotoCorp clocked "its best ever third quarter" with 18.45 lakh units sold during the October-December period.
Hyundai Motor India's overall Dec sales up 33.14%
Similarly, the company's domestic sales rose during the month under review. It edged higher by 24.89 per cent to 47,400 units from 37,953 units sold during the corresponding month of the previous year. Besides, exports increased by 58.84 per cent to 19,350 units from 12,182 units shipped out during December 2019.

At present, the company's brands like Pulsar, Boxer, Platina and RE are being sold in over 70 countries around the world. Recently, it announced a major investment of Rs 650 crore in a fourth plant to be built in Chakan, Maharashtra for premium range of motorcycles and electric two-wheelers.
Maruti Suzuki's December 2020 sales up 20%
The company sold 1,60,226 units of vehicles last month, against 1,33,296 units sold in December 2019. On a sequential basis, the company sold 1,53,223 units of vehicles in November 2020. Maruti Suzuki India Limited posted total sales of 1,60,226 units in December 2020. This is a growth of 20.2 per cent over December 2019, the automobile manufacturer said in a statement.
Overall auto segment's YoY wholesales expected to grow, barring few
As per the report, in December 2020, wholesale volumes are estimated to grow at 14.4 per cent for two wheelers on a low base and 5.4 per cent for passenger vehicles due to the year-end sales. Similarly, wholesale volumes for tractors are expected to grow. The volume is expected to zoom by 38.4 per cent YoY on robust demand and lower base.
