Additionally, Tata Group is gearing up to initiate the construction of a substantial 20 gigawatts battery storage factory in Gujarat in the coming months. Chandrasekaran emphasized that this venture aligns with Tata's strategic efforts to fortify its presence in the renewable energy sector, contributing to India's increasing emphasis on sustainable power solutions.

Further expanding its footprint, Tata Group is set to establish one of India's largest iPhone assembly plants in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Reports suggest that the facility will boast approximately 20 assembly lines and is anticipated to provide employment for 50,000 workers within the next two years, with operations expected to commence in 12 to 18 months.

These initiatives by Tata follow in the footsteps of other global players entering the Indian semiconductor landscape. Micron Technology, a US-based company, commenced the construction of a Rs 22,500 crore facility in Sanand, Gujarat, last September, setting a notable benchmark for India's semiconductor endeavors. Additionally, engineering major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced an investment of up to Rs 830 crore to establish a fabless semiconductor chip design subsidiary, contributing to India's aspirations of becoming a semiconductor hub.
