The corporation asserts this initial rush of orders as a healthy indication of "huge consumer excitement" for its new-gen foldable tech.

As per Samsung Electronics, the number of pre-orders for the new foldables in the first two days is almost comparable to the early pre-order figures of the Galaxy S25 series, which had previously set a record with 4.3 lakh pre-orders in almost three weeks after launch.

For perspective, the Galaxy S25 experienced same levels of demand within the first 48 hours to place the new foldables in a very competitive spot from day one.

The phones, which are made in India, are priced in a broad range to meet various segments of the premium market:

  • Galaxy Z Fold7: ₹1.75 lakh to ₹2.11 lakh
  • Galaxy Z Flip7: ₹1.10 lakh to ₹1.22 lakh
  • Galaxy Z Flip7 FE: ₹89,000 to ₹95,999

Speaking on the achievement, JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, had to say:
"The record pre-orders for our Made-in-India foldable smartphones reaffirm our conviction that young Indian consumers are eager to embrace the newest technology."

He said the Galaxy Z Fold7 delivers Samsung's most powerful, most immersive mobile experience yet, with portability complemented by smart features. The Galaxy Z Flip7 series, on the other hand, delivers an intuitive, adaptive user experience to change the way people engage with their devices.

"The success of the new smartphones is a stepping stone to our larger vision – the mainstreaming of foldable smartphones in India," Park stated.

As per Q1 2025 market data provided by IDC, Vivo is leading the Indian smartphone market now with a 19.7% share, and Samsung follows with 16.4% of overall shipments.
